The Process"Love one another as I have loved you." John 13:34 The MAP Team will begin to meet together inside the Ottawa-Carleton Detention Center before the focal member is discharged. The Team will continue to meet regularly after discharge. As a result of this relationship the focal member acquires a mentor. A MAP Team provides the types of support that is often called aftercare: · they assist with physical needs like clothing, health concerns and housing; Except for willing hands to serve and hearts to love, I don't think the terrible disease of being lonely and unwanted can ever be cured. - Mother Teresa of Calcutta The MAP team becomes a presence in the focal member's life, as do each of the three coaches. The Team will relate with each other in light of two fundamental documents: the generic MAP Boundary Document developed by MAP and the unique MAP Community Covenant they have made with one another.
