Syd Hancock is a member of faculty at Algonquin College, in the Police & Public Safety Institute. He teaches in the Police Foundations Program, and in the Corporate Security & Risk Management Program. He has taught at Algonquin over ten years after retiring as a senior officer from the Canadian Forces, Police & Security Branch.
He left the military as a Deputy Provost Marshal, after more than thirty years of service. During that time his duties included command of a military police unit, a posting on exchange with the Royal Military Police England, and service with the Canadian Brigade in Germany.
Syd has a bachelor degree from the Royal Military College, Kingston, and has graduated from the Command & Staff Course, Kingston and the Toronto Staff College.
Syd has been a board member of MAP for two years.
